this project was part of a residency at grand central art center, california state university fullerton, santa ana, los angeles - usa, and the trips to europe were financed by csuf and the netherlands embassy in los angeles.

the images show the grand openening of the exhibition during which visitors could sign in and make a chance to be selected and finally win a real trip to europe. - four categories of participants would be allowed to sign in: single men, single women, married couples, unmarried couples. by signing in Subscribers would accept terms and conditions of this contest. after collecting subscriptions for two weeks i then closed the exhibition doors and i randomly selected 5 subscribers for each category. the contestants agreed upon letting me and my camera assistant visit them at their homes and also interview them about life and habits of southern california people. Moreover, contestants would have to give me good reason for why they wanted to win this trip. the visits to the contestants' houses and the interviews were recorded on a video. >>> please see next page...
