amobilicud humanum est - neon text & belgian blue stone - 184x30cm | ®2006 | courtesy of galerie cd christine de ketelaere - tielt, belgium |
this neon text, which stems from a very famous latin proverb, hides an anagram in it that during the exhibition visitors could unravel and thus win a cultural trip to rome. the anagram was contained in the first word "amobilicud". winning this trip would have meant also to go visit the thermae of ulteria, a well known and controversially creative place situated in the outskirt of ancient rome where these funny anagrams, puzzles and complex mural graffiti were usually made by negletted writers, unsuccessful phylosophers, lost politicians, improvised poets, charlatans and the likes.(...) trip was kindly awarded by christine de ketelaere, the gallery owner. |
