this performance was produced for a show held in new york ("news from home" 2004) curated by moniek voulon at the white box annex gallery new york. the second of a series of shows that meant to raise questions on the change of world politics after the sept 11th terroristic attacks in nyc. - my original plan of artistically dealing with issues related to the politics of terror exsercised on the common citizen by this new world order since the sept 11th event, was completely reconsidered after seeing the touching online video of the decapitation of kenneth bigley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Bigley). the effects on people's real life following the politics of war on terrorism launched by many of the western countries had become unacceptable to me and so was the idea of playing with human dramas. because of this, and before the show in new york would open, i kindly requested the curator moniek voulon that my participation be cancelled and with it also the exhibiting of the work that i had been producing for it, including the picture in the catalogue. sad enough, my request remained unheard. >>> please see links above left-hand side.
